Organization: Kids Included Together
Grants: $5,000
Years: 2011-2012

Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation is a long-time supporter of the San Diego-based Kids Included Together (KIT)--a premier organization providing inclusion training to out-of-school-time organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Mitsubishi Electric employee volunteers also like KIT, so much so that they are willing to go Over-the-Edge for them! For the past few years, KIT has been holding a unique fundraiser where volunteers raise $1,000 for the opportunity to rappel off of a 33 story building in downtown San Diego.

Project Results

In 2011, Aime, an employee volunteer from the GIVE Committee at Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc. in Garden Grove, Ca. joined youth from the MEAF-supported I am Norm Campaign in going Over-the-Edge.

In 2012, Aime took the plunge again, along with three volunteers from the newly formed LIFT Committee at Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. in San Diego. Their combined efforts garnered $5,000 for KIT's programs to promote the full inclusion of youth with disabilities.
